Walking

Cycling

The Surrey Hills is a great area for mountain biking with a linked network of trails across the North Downs, Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill, Pitch Hill and Winterfold. For more information see: https://www.surreyhillsmountainbiking.co.uk/surrey-hills-mountain-bike-trails.php?p=surrey-hills-mtb-trails/

Cycles available to hire from local providers in Westcott and Peaslake.

There are endless walking opportunities to choose from during your stay, enchanting woodlands, rolling open downland, historic country estates and tranquil riverside walks.

Why not re-create scenes from Jane Auten's 'Emma' with a picnic on the top of Box Hill, or walk in the footsteps of Agatha Christie at Newlands Corner.

Tanhurst Estate is also a great base to stay for those tackling sections of long distance walking/cycle routes across the South of England including the North Downs Way, the Pilgrims Way and the Greensand Way.
