This autumn, Tanhurst Estate Vineyard will be getting into the festive spirit as we welcome This Is My Theatre for a special performance of Charles Dickens’ much-loved classic, A Christmas Carol.
On Thursday 12th November 2026, audiences can enjoy this timeless Christmas story in the beautiful surroundings of Tanhurst Estate, with two performances taking place at 5pm and 7.30pm.

A CHRISTMAS CLASSIC BROUGHT TO LIFE
Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has been part of our Christmas traditions for generations. Its story of redemption, generosity and the true meaning of Christmas continues to capture the imagination, making it as relevant today as when it was first published in 1843.
This Is My Theatre’s festive one-act adaptation brings Dickens’ much-loved story to life with its trademark charm, warmth and theatrical energy.
The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly and cold-hearted businessman who has little time for Christmas or the people around him. But on Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley.
Marley warns Scrooge that he must change his ways and tells him that he will be visited by three spirits. Through visions of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future, Scrooge is given one final opportunity to reconsider how he has lived his life. Will he change his ways? Or will he remain the miserly old man we first meet?
It is a story filled with humour, warmth and Christmas spirit – and one that reminds us that it is never too late to change.

THIS IS MY THEATRE
Founded in 2016 by Artistic Director Sarah Slator, This Is My Theatre specialises in bringing classical plays and literary adaptations to audiences in a wide variety of settings.
The company has a particular passion for making theatre accessible to everyone, including audiences living in rural communities. Rather than relying solely on traditional theatres, the company takes its productions on tour to some wonderfully atmospheric locations – from churches and cafés to cathedrals, care homes, coastal forts and heritage sites.
Their performances are carefully adapted to suit the spaces in which they are presented, creating intimate and memorable theatrical experiences for audiences.
The company also regularly works with charities and heritage organisations, with proceeds from performances helping to support the upkeep, maintenance and restoration of some of the wonderful venues they visit.
