Our family own and run Tanhurst Estate vineyard where we produce our own wines from the grapes we grow. We also have four lovely self-catering holiday properties on our estate where you can experience a working vineyard and drink in the beautiful countryside views. COLIN & SARAH
The Owners
Hello, we’re Colin and Sarah Grimes, and we own and take care of Tanhurst Estate. We’ve lived and worked here on Leith Hill for forty years. Together with our small team of dedicated workers, we carry out the day-to-day management of the vineyard and our holiday accommodation.
SALVATORE
Winemaker
Salvatore Leone is our talented contract winemaker. Born in Sicily, he has over 20 years and 34 vintages of experience gained in seven countries. Now settled in the UK, he is helping us to create naturally expressive artisan wines that are true to the vintage and unique local terroir of Leith Hill.
HANNAH
Vineyard Manager
Hannah is our eldest daughter, and she lives on the estate with her husband and young family and is helping us to grow the business. With her bookkeeping and planning skills, Hannah is helping to keep Tanhurst Estate vineyard running smoothly behind the scenes.
LAURA
Events Coodinator
Laura is our youngest daughter, and she helps to organise our wine tastings, tours, and events. She is passionate about creating a friendly and inspiring experience for all our visitors. Laura does all this remotely from Devon where she now lives with her own family, but returns to Tanhurst regularly.
TERRY
Vineyard Grounds Manager
Terry Knight, a trained engineer, has been working with us for two decades. He’s a master of all trades and helps with everything from digging, roofing, fencing to pruning, mowing, and maintaining equipment. The reward of all his hard work, he says, is getting to be amongst nature.
