Tanhurst Estate Vineyard Chardonnay & Rosé wines

LAUNCH NEWS

We are delighted to toast the release of the 2023 vintages of our Chardonnay and Rosé wines, made solely from the grapes we grow in our own vineyard and bottled in our artisan winery here on the Tanhurst Estate. It’s a real thrill that within only a few years of planning we are producing English wines of such outstanding quality here on Leith Hill in Surrey. We hope you will enjoy these new releases as much as we have taken pleasure in crafting them.

INTRODUCING OUR DEBUT STILL CHARDONNAY ‘STONYMOOR’

Our first single oak barrel Chardonnay is bursting with fresh fruit flavours and subtle notes of jasmine and hazelnut. With its fresh, crisp style and smooth finish with a hint of minerality, it’s the perfect partner for grilled chicken and seafood.

AND TANHURST ESTATE VINEYARD’S STILL ENGLISH ROSÉ NAMED ROSIERS

Also launching, this stylish rosé is one of the best expressions of our young vines. A blend of Pinot Noir clones from our estate it has enticingly juicy notes of ripe peach and wild strawberries and exudes the essence of an English summer’s day. This is a wine for pure pleasure as well as delightful food pairing.

WHAT INSPIRED OUR WINE NAMES? COLIN GRIMES EXPLAINS

“Stonymoor and Rosier are the names of areas of semi-ancient wet woodland just above our vineyard. The woodland is a designated site of special scientific interest with many rare flora and fauna species including ferns and dormice; and it’s one of the most important in southeast England. You might not know, but I have managed and looked after this historic woodland for the past 40 years. So, it seemed apt for me to choose the woodland names for my wine, as they are both so exceptionally rare and special.”

Both Stonymoor and Rosier wines are available to buy direct now at our Tanhurst Estate shop and online. Our opening hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12 noon until 6 pm for purchase and collection.
